The purpose of this report was to complete an environmental scan of existing programs, resources, reports and studies already in existence pertaining to human resource needs in the Canadian agriculture sector, and to identify the current situation and scope of farm business management skills, programs and tools used by agricultural producers in Canada so that the scope of human resource issues in agriculture could be examined.
This report is one part of a larger project that was undertaken by the ‘Steering Committee for the Investigation of an Agriculture Sector Council for Human Resources Issues’, led by the Canadian Federation of Agriculture. The purpose of the project was to help determine whether to create a National Agriculture Sector Council for Human Resource Issues.
